Each day this month I will be answering one question from these December Journal Prompts.
Day 29: Next year I’d like to improve my mental health by…
Next year I’d like to improve my mental health by taking my own advice.
I’ve spent the past month reflecting on a truly amazing year. I’ve highlighted countless areas of growth, as well as plenty of struggles. I’ve noted the things I wish I had done differently, the mental health killers that got the better of me, and the areas where I would like to experience growth in the next year of my life.
I think all that remains now for me is to simply take my own advice. Truthfully, I think it would be unwise for me to write another post about yet ANOTHER thing I would like to do to improve my mental health next year. I already know the answers. I’ve spent the past month blogging about them. Now I just need to go and do them.
I’m guessing that you know what you need to do too. Deep down in your heart, somewhere hidden beneath the fear and insecurity, you know exactly what your next step is. You know what it will take to improve your mental health in 2019. And I want to encourage you today to take your own advice. Trust yourself. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt and follow that little spark inside of you that is still holding onto hope.
We all have it in us to improve our mental health. We all have it in us to take that next step. Often times we feel trapped and cornered with no way out, but I believe that the way out is always right in front of us. We just have to be brave enough to take it. In 2019, I want to improve my mental health by trusting myself and choosing to walk through the open doors right in front of me. I want to take what I have learned throughout this December blog challenge, apply it to my life, and watch myself become braver than before!
